The Australian Autumn/Winter 18 collections for kids are starting to to drop, and with their theatrical flourishes, utilitarian designs, and playful add-ons (wings!) for kids age 5 -12, we’re excited to be partnering with Australian label Paper Wings this season.

I asked Max and Rose what they thought of the Paper Wings Autumn/Winter 2018 collection.

Max said: I like the moody tones in the jumpers and t-shirts. I like the feeling of it all, and that there are wings to go along with the regular clothes.

His edit: Bat Wings / Toothy jumper / Long sleeve tee / Reversible Hoodie

Rose said: I like it all! I like how the skirts twirl and have ruffles at the bottom. I love the deer patterns because the deers are so cute. I would wear the wings with the dress and the cardigan, those would suit each other.

Her edit: Pink fawns long sleeve tee / Grey fawns dress / Butterfly wings / Bustle skirt with sequin hearts/ Black swans tights

Let’s Hang Out

  • ‘everything in the world comes down to time in the end. happiness is a time you’re looking forward to, or time you look back on. it’s all about time passing.’
#annetyler

i was chatting with my grown-up son the other day and we were agreeing that right now, sometimes it feels like time has just... stopped. i have a lot of space to just be. sometimes i find myself reliving happy moments in my mind.

it’s interesting the things that come back to you. the clarity that perspective brings. the narrowing down, and the sifting through. what rises to the surface, when the noise falls away.

this one and her brother couldn’t be loving #stayhome life more. they’ve entertained each other and us (including writing, directing and performing a post-apocalyptic themed play), they’ve embraced having their dad and i take turns teaching them (they made up their own anthem for homeschool), and while they’ve spent more than their fair share of iso school hols on screens, basically,
during these strange and trying times, they’ve been, and are, a joy and a delight ✨
here i tried to take a portrait of rose and she turned the camera on me. because that’s what your children will do, right?
  • a couple of weeks ago i tried to fathom the current state of things as a whole. mistake. being newly single and separated from the little kids for part of the week adds another layer to things. this is just my deal right now. everyone has their own stuff going on. it’s a lot.
never have i ever spent so much time in public parks and gardens. i think we all have a greater appreciation of the world that isn’t human right now. the other day, apropos of nothing, rose said to me: i love nature. and i feel like humans just build things and wreck everything. they don’t care about nature unless it helps them.
max started telling her how she could help (regeneration programs) i started talking about voting.
but mostly i hugged her, and said yeah, that’s true. cause humans. sheesh.

comparatively speaking, we’re doing okay here. but i share this now, cause when i read of other’s struggles, for a moment i feel less alone. maybe hearing mine will do that for you too 🤍
