Old Town Hong Kong at Barangaroo offers an array of Cantonese-style meats, dumplings and tasting plates. Best of all they have delicious gluten-free options. Review by Max.
One day I was visiting my dad’s work and we were having a lunch break in Barangaroo. We wandered around and came across Old Town, and guess what? It has gluten-free food! Yay. It’s in a new building and it has a nice shiny counter and plenty of tables and chairs. Above the counter there are hanging roasted chicken and duck. I reckon twenty five people would fit in the restaurant, maybe more.
You can order rice, duck, chicken, pork, noodles, soup. But only the rice and the pork (pictured above) and the duck and the chicken are gluten-free. And the soy sauce. And vegetables. All vegetables are gluten-free!
The rice is really, really yummy rice and the food tastes gourmet. I’d recommend the rice and the duck dish ’cause it’s a really good combo of food and tastes really nice, especially for dinner.
I feel very welcome when I go there. I’d give it five out of five stars.
